As early as 4,000 to 10,000 years ago, Lushan has entered the era of farming. In 316
King Huiwen of Qin established Qingyi County after the Qingyi Qiang State, being the earliest
for the present Lushan County. In the 2nd year of the Yangjia reign in the Eastern Han Dynasty
A.D.), it was renamed Hanjia County, meaning to be rewarded by the Han Dynasty. In the Three
Kingdoms Period, it was named Yangjia County. In the 3rd year of the Renshou reign in the Sui
Dynasty (603 A.D.), it was named Lushan County (卢山县), later Dadu County from the Tang Dynasty to
Song Dynasty. In the 20th year of the Zhiyuan reign in the Yuan Dynasty (1283 A.D.), it was
Lushan County (泸山县). In the 6th year of the Hongwu reign in the Ming Dynasty (1373 A.D.), it was
renamed Lushan County (芦山县). This name is still in use today.
Population: In 2018, there are 10 public kindergartens, 12 private kindergartens, 4 government-subsidized private kindergartens, and 6 affiliated preschools to primary schools in the county, with 3,673 students in these kindergartens, an enrollment rate of preschool education of 95%. There are 23 schools for compulsory education, with 9,109 students, with an enrollment rate of school-age population for compulsory education of 100%, a retention rate in primary schools of 99.91%, a retention rate in junior high schools of 99.83%, a graduation rate from primary schools of 100%, and a graduation rate from junior high schools of 100%.
TThe gross domestic product (GDP) of the region in 2018 reached RMB 4.32 billion, a YoY increase of 9.1% in terms of comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries was RMB 603 million, RMB 2.313 billion and RMB 1.404 billion, an increase of 3.9%, 10.4% and 9.0%, respectively. The contribution rates of the three industries to economic growth were 6.3%, 65.9% and 27.8%, respectively. The regional per capita GDP was RMB 39,167, an increase of 10.3%. The proportion of the three industries was adjusted from 14.4:53.4:32.2 of the previous year to 14.0:53.5:32.5.
There are 3 AAAA tourist attractions: Longmen Ancient Town, Feixian Pass, and Hanjiang Ancient City. The tourist attractions within Lushan County include Lingjiu Mountain - Daxue Peak, Weita Funnel, and Longmen Karst Cave. In 2018, there were 223 agritainments in the county, providing more than 10,000 beds, including 40 star-level agritainments, and with the largest number of agritainments in Ya’an. 1 provincial boutique tourism village, 2 provincial model villages for poverty alleviation through tourism, 2 provincial characteristic tourism townships, 3 provincial business outlets for special commercial activities of rural tourism, 11 provincial rural households with satisfactory homestays, and 15 municipal model villages of leisure agriculture and rural tourism have been built.
